Digital Signage

The Digital Signage feature allows you to create and manage dynamic image slideshows for display on TVs, monitors, and other digital screens throughout your property. You can organize images into groups, control display timing, and schedule when content appears. Each signage group generates a unique URL that can be opened on any display device.

Creating Signage Groups

Signage groups are collections of images that display as a rotating slideshow. Each group operates independently and has its own unique URL for display.

• Add New Signage – Click the ”+” button or the empty state card to create a new signage group. A new group is created with a default name that you can edit.
• Edit Group Name – Click directly on the group name to edit it inline. Press Enter to save or Escape to cancel.
• Group URL – Each group automatically receives a unique short URL that can be shared and opened on any display device.

Adding Images

You can add images to a signage group in multiple ways:

• Drag and Drop – Drag image files directly onto a signage group to upload them. Multiple images can be dropped at once.
• Click to Upload – Click the ”+” drop zone within a group to open a file picker and select images to upload.
• Set Duration – When uploading, specify how long each image should display (in seconds) before transitioning to the next image.

Managing Signage Items

Each image in a signage group can be individually configured and managed:

• Reorder Items – Drag and drop images within a group to change their display order. The new order is saved automatically.
• Edit Item Settings – Click on any image to open the edit dialog where you can adjust display settings.
• Delete Items – Remove unwanted images from the edit dialog using the delete button.

Display Strategies

Each signage item supports two display strategies that determine when and how long it appears:

• Duration Rotation – The image displays for a specified number of seconds before automatically transitioning to the next image in the sequence. This creates a continuous slideshow effect.
• Scheduled Time Range – The image only displays during a specific daily time window (e.g., 09:00 to 17:00). This is useful for showing different content at different times of day, such as breakfast menus in the morning and dinner menus in the evening.

Group Settings

Access group settings via the menu (three dots) on each signage group to configure advanced options:

• Group Name – A descriptive name to identify this signage group.
• Description – Optional notes about the group’s purpose or content.
• Schedule Type – Control when the signage group is active:
  • Always Active – Display continuously without time restrictions.
  • Daily Schedule – Display only during specific hours each day (e.g., 08:00 to 22:00).
  • Date Range – Display only between specific start and end dates, perfect for seasonal promotions or events.

Group Actions

The dropdown menu on each signage group provides quick access to common actions:

• Copy URL – Copy the signage group’s public URL to your clipboard for sharing.
• Preview – Open the signage display in a new browser tab to see how it will appear on a display device.
• Settings – Open the group settings dialog to edit name, description, and schedule.
• Duplicate – Create a copy of the signage group with all its images and settings.
• Delete – Permanently remove the signage group and all its images.

Public Display

When opened on a display device, the signage URL shows a fullscreen slideshow with the following features:

• Fullscreen Mode – Click or tap anywhere on the screen to enter fullscreen mode for an immersive display experience.
• Smooth Transitions – Images transition with a smooth sliding animation.
• Real-Time Updates – Changes made in the backoffice are automatically reflected on the display without needing to refresh.
• Auto-Recovery – If the connection is lost, the display will automatically attempt to reconnect and resume playback.

URL Management

Each signage group has a unique access code and short URL:

• Short URL – A compact, easy-to-share URL that directs to your signage display.
• Copy URL – Click the copy icon next to the URL to copy it to your clipboard.
• Open URL – Click the external link icon to open the signage in a new tab.
• Generate New Code – Click the refresh icon to generate a new access code. This invalidates the old URL, which is useful if you need to revoke access to a display.

Note: Generating a new code will require you to update the URL on any displays currently using the old code.
