Guests
The in-house guest list, its filters, and editing a guest without opening the reservation.
Guests is the people-shaped view of the property. Where the reservation list is organised around bookings, this is organised around the individuals currently involved with them — which is what you want when somebody walks up to the desk and gives you a name.
The four views
| Filter | Who is shown |
|---|---|
| Active guests | Everyone currently in house. |
| Arriving today | Guests due to arrive today. |
| Leaving today | Guests due to depart today. |
| All guests | Everyone, regardless of dates. |
Search works across the whole list and matches names, email addresses and reservation numbers.
The columns
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Resv. no. | The reservation this guest belongs to. |
| First name / Last name | The guest’s name. |
| Their email address, used for the guest app and messages. | |
| Arriving / Leaving | The dates of their stay. |
| Room number | The room they are assigned to. |
| Breakfast included | Whether breakfast is part of their rate. This is what the breakfast room checks. |
| Checked in / Checked out | Where they are in the arrival and departure flow. |
Editing a guest
Add creates a guest, and the pencil on a row edits one. The form holds the reservation number, first and last name, email, arrival and departure dates, room number, whether breakfast is included, and the checked-in and checked-out flags.
This is a deliberately small form for quick corrections — a misspelled name, a missing email, a breakfast that should have been included. Anything that changes what is charged belongs on the reservation itself; see Reservation details.
Guests and customers
A guest is someone on a stay. A customer is the company or individual an account belongs to, which may be a travel agent or an employer rather than the person sleeping in the room. They are managed separately — see Customers.
